Hvac Upgrades & Related Work: Fairfield Woods Middle School, North Stratfield Elementary School, Osborn Hill Elementary School The Work includes construction as indicated on the construction documents. Osborn Hill Elementary School 760 Stillson Road Fairfield, CT 06824 Fairfield Woods Middle School 1115 Fairfield Woods Road Fairfield, CT 06825 North Stratfield Elementary School 190 Putting Green Road Fairfield, CT 06825 This project includes HVAC (cooling and fresh air) and Electrical upgrades at The Osborn Hill Elementary School, North Stratfield Elementary School, and Fairfield Woods Middle School. The work includes selective demolition, selective Hazardous Materials abatement work, limited structural steel retrofit, new ceilings, new lighting, new HVAC equipment, duct distribution, new switchgear and electrical services, limited site utility work, selective roofing repairs. The project also includes complete roofing replacement at the North Stratfield Elementary School. In addition, all three schools will be receiving main entry vestibule upgrades, which are being bid as add alternates. Construction to commence in early April 2024 and substantially complete by August 2025. The work has been divided into the following bid packages: BP02A - Demolition Demolition BP05A - Structural Steel (Set Aside) DAS Prequalification Not Required BP07A - Roofing Roofing BP09A - General Trades General Trades BP09B - Ceilings Drywall and Acoustical BP21A - Fire Protection (Set Aside) DAS Prequalification Not Required BP23A - Plumbing & HVAC Plumbing / HVAC BP26A - Electrical Electrical BP31A - Sitework DAS Prequalification Not Required Bidders, at the time the bid is submitted, must be prequalified with the State of Connecticut Department of Administrative Services (DAS) in accordance with C.G.S 4b-91, for the bid package(s) listed below. In accordance with C.G.S. 4a-100, 4b-91, and 4b-101, any trade contractor submitting a bid is required to submit an update statement. All lower tier subcontractors with contracts in excess of $1,000,000 must be prequalified in the applicable classification at the time of performance of their work. In the event of a re-bid, the Bidder's Prequalification Update Statement must be resubmitted with each bid submission. Prevailing wage rates as outlined in Connecticut General Statutes 31-53 apply Each Bid shall be accompanied by a bid security in the form of a Bid Bond in an amount not less than Ten Percent (10%) of the total amount of the base bid. Said surety shall be issued by a surety that is licensed to do business in the State of Connecticut and is rated A-(VII) or better by A.M. Best. The Owner and/or Construction Manager reserves the right to reject any or all bids, without stating reasons therefore, including without limitation the right to reject any or all nonconforming, non-responsive, unbalanced, or conditional bids and to reject the bid of any bidder if the Owner and/or Construction Manager believes that it would not be in the best interest of the Owner or the project to make an award to that bidder, whether because the bid is not responsive or the bidder is unqualified or of doubtful financial ability or fails to meet any other pertinent standard or criteria established by the Owner and/or Construction Manager. The Owner and/or Construction Manager reserves the right to require, prior to Notice of Award, a statement of facts in detail of the business and technical organization and plant of the bidder available for the contemplated work, including financial resources, present commitments, and experience of the bidder in performance of comparable work.
