Courthouse Green Complex Asphalt, Overlay and Traffic Marking James City County Department of General Services is seeking bids from qualified contractors to perform asphalt repair work at the Courthouse Green complex in James City County located at 4097 Ironbound Road, Williamsburg, VA 23188. SCOPE OF CONTRACT James City County is soliciting Bids for milling asphalt, asphalt overlay work and installing traffic markings in accordance with specification and attachments herein. PERIOD OF CONTRACT Contractor shall begin performance under this Contract on the date specified in the Notice to Proceed issued by the Project Manager. Once the contractor has received the Notice to Proceed, Contractor shall complete all work within 30 days from the start date specified in the Notice to Proceed. Liquidated Damages: $250.00 per calendar day after the time for Final Completion has expired. Liquidated Damages: Shall be the dollar amount calculated based on the total value of the Contract and determined at the sole discretion of the Owner. If the Contractor breaches their Contract, they shall compensate the Owner for its losses. Except in cases of emergency, all bids or proposals for construction contracts in excess of $100,000 shall be accompanied by a bid bond from a surety company selected by the bidder that is legally authorized to do business in Virginia, as a guarantee that if the contract is awarded to such bidder, that bidder will enter into the contract for the work specified in the bid. The amount of the bid bond shall not exceed five percent (5%) of the amount bid. James City County reserves the right to waive any Informality in any Bid. However, Bids or amendments which are received after the date and time specified for the opening of Bids will be neither opened nor considered and will be returned unopened to the Bidder. Contractor to mill approximately 3305 SY of asphalt as referenced on the Site Plan in Appendix C. All paving joints will be sawcut. Contractor to install 364 tons of 2" SM 9.5A asphalt in milled area as referenced on the Site Plan in Appendix C. Replace speed bump in existing location. Speed bump to be painted yellow. Restore all pavement markings.
