Quotes are sought for concrete slab and installation of bench at 37559 Lakeshore Blvd. o Construction of bus stop at Lakeshore Lot at 37559 Lakeshore Blvd. o Shelter supplied by Laketran and installed by contractor. o Drawings and specifications attached. o Davis Bacon Act (Prevailing Wage Rates) o The requirements of the Davis Bacon Act [40 USC 167; 276a - 276a-5, and 29 CFR 5] will apply to all construction contracts exceeding the prevailing wage threshold levels established by the Ohio Wage and Hour Division. o Bidders are hereby notified that they will be required to pay minimum wages to all laborers and mechanics at a rate not less than the minimum wage specified in the wage determination made by the United States Secretary of Labor. The minimum wage so paid shall be that in effect ten (10) days before bid opening. o Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act o Sections 102 and 107 of the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act, as amended, [40 USC 327 through 333;, 29 CFR Part 5; 29 CFR Part 1926] will apply to construction contracts. o The wages of every mechanic and laborer will be computed on the basis of a standard work week of 40 hours, and that each worker will be compensated for work exceeding the standard work week at a rate of not less than 1.5 times the basic rate of pay for all hours worked in excess of 40 hours in the work week. o Copeland "Anti-Kickback" Act o The Copeland "Anti-Kickback" Act, [40 USC 276c, 29 CFR 3, and 29 CFR 5] will apply to construction contracts. o The Contractor agrees that it will not induce, by any means, any person employed in the construction, completion, or repair of public work, to give up any part of the compensation to which that employee is otherwise entitled. o Seismic Safety o Contractor agrees that any new building or addition to an existing building will be designed and constructed in accordance with the standards for Seismic Safety required in Department of Transportation Seismic Safety Regulations 49 CFR Part 41 and will certify to compliance to the extent required by the regulation. The contractor also agrees to ensure that all work performed under this contract including work performed by a subcontractor is in compliance with the standards required by the Seismic Safety Regulations and the certification of compliance issued on the project. o Hatch Act/Work Day and Work Week Standards Bidders are hereby notified that under the terms of this specification, the standard work day is eight (8) hours and the standard work week is forty (40) hours. Any work in excess of these standards must be compensated at time and one-half (1.5). Also no laborer or mechanic shall be required to work in any unsanitary, hazardous, or any area which may be dangerous to their health or safety.
