The City of Tempe (City) is issuing this Request for Quotation (RFQ) to establish a term contract for maintenance and repair services for a total of four (4) Karcher floor scrubbers with three (3) located at the East Valley Bus Operations and Maintenance facility (EVBOM) and one (1) located at the Tempe Transportation Center (TTC). The resulting contract shall be for a period of two years with three, one-year renewal options as provided for in the Special Terms and Conditions section in this RFQ. Responses to this RFQ shall include all labor, equipment, materials, supplies, etc., to perform the specified maintenance and repair services. Service Location and Hours The Contractor shall perform all on-site maintenance and repair services at the East Valley Bus Operations and Maintenance facility, 2050 W. Rio Salado Parkway, Tempe, AZ 85281 and the Tempe Transportation Center, 200 E. 5th Street, Tempe, AZ 85281. The Contractor shall perform all on-site work during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Contractor may perform on-site work during non-business hours with preauthorization from the Transit Facilities Supervisor. Inspection, Diagnostic, and Troubleshooting Services The Contractor shall provide, as needed, inspection, diagnostic, and troubleshooting services of the specified equipment. Diagnostic and troubleshooting services shall include professional recommendations from the Contractor as to the correct parts and/or maintenance or repair service required to restore equipment to original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications. Preventative Maintenance Services The Contractor shall perform the manufacturer specified quarterly preventative maintenance services on Karcher floor scrubbers including, but not limited to, the following: Check floor scrubber operation and drive modes. Check drain cap and hoses. Drain and clean solution tank. Check and clean spray nozzles and bars. Check all squeegees for wear and damage. Check and lubricate squeegee caster wheels and pivot points. Check side and rear squeegees for deflection and leveling. Check all scrub brushes for wear and tear. Check scrub brush drive motors and brushes. Check recovery tank, level sensor, and vacuum filter. Drain and clean recovery tank and vacuum filter. Clean solution tank and supply filter. Check scrubber for leaks. Check and clean debris troughs. Check cylindrical brushes for damaged and correct taper and rotate. Check tension on cylindrical scrub brush drive belts. Check cylindrical scrubber head skirt for wear, damage, and adjust accordingly. Check and clean battery terminals and cables, battery electrolyte levels, and battery charge. Check all electrical and battery charging systems. Check and lubricate steering caster pivot bearing. Check deflection and lubricate steering gear chain. Check motor brushes and vacuum fan motors. Check propelling motor brushes. Check and torque rear wheel nuts. Check transaxle and lubricant level. Check front tire air pressure (as applicable) Check all wheels for damage and operation. Check all hand controls are operating properly. Check all control pedals are operating properly. Check all safety devices are operating properly. Check condition of plastic body panels and seat cushion (as applicable). Wipe down floor scrubber with cleaner. Repair and Additional Services The Contractor shall perform repairs to Karcher floor scrubbers as needed per inspection and preventative maintenance services and as requested by the City.
