Pavement rehabilitation in the bus staging area consisting of concrete reinforcement, excavating, erosion control, base courses, asphalt and concrete paving, pavement marking, planting, and storm drainage Coordinate all work with Owner and Engineer. Contractor shall provide Owner with a minimum of three days advance notice prior to the start of construction. B. The Contractor is required to provide, place, and maintain visible barriers and signage as required to keep unauthorized personnel and vehicles out of active work zones. C. The Contractor shall protect and utilize techniques to prevent damage to existing site facilities scheduled to remain. D. Bus Staging Area: 1. Install erosion control devices prior to the start of excavation. 2. Repair catch basin structures and adjacent concrete curbing in locations shown on the Drawings. 3. Reconstruct concrete apron and adjacent concrete curbing and sidewalk at the bus staging areais southern entrance. 4. Repair additional sections of damaged concrete curb and gutter marked in the field by the Engineer by removing existing and replacing with new. 5. Remove existing bituminous pavement as shown on the Drawings. 6. Grade and compact existing aggregate base material as required to maintain positive surface drainage, maximize reuse of existing aggregate base, and accommodate new bituminous pavement section . Schedule and perform proof-roll of prepared base in the presence of the Engineer. Where required by the Engineer, perform subgrade corrections by excavating and disposing of existing soils off-site and replacing with new imported aggregate base. 8. Place new bituminous pavement in two lifts over prepared base. 9. Restore disturbed lawn areas by placing topsoil, grass seed, and erosion control blanket. 10. Paint pavement markings in the bus staging area as shown. 11. Remove erosion control devices following final site stabilization. 12. The following quantities should be bid as specified. If the quantities increase or decrease during the construction process, the unit prices provided will be used to adjust the Contract amount. a. Concrete curb and gutter repairs: 100 linear feet b. Subgrade corrections (compacted volume): 200 cubic yards
