Project Description: Mishawaka Liberty Drive and Grove Street Municipal Parking Lot PLT-23-010 This project will include the construction of a new 56 space off-street parking lot located south of Grove Street, east of Liberty Drive, and includes earthwork, demolition, ADA accessible parking spaces, concrete curb, drywells and subsurface gravel retention, pedestrian sidewalk connections to the surrounding neighborhood, parking lot lighting, decorative fencing, and landscaping. Also included are Grove Street and Liberty Drive intersection improvements including concrete curb bump outs, HMA roadway restoration, relocation of existing storm structures, and milling and resurfacing Grove Street, and the alleyway south of the proposed parking lot. The project consists of furnishing all labor, materials, services, equipment, tools, transportation, and miscellaneous equipment necessary for the construction of the City of Mishawaka Municipal Parking Lot project per the Project Manual, Construction Drawings and Specifications. A certified check payable to the City of Mishawaka, Indiana or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the bidder and surety company, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid shall be submitted with each bid. The bidder awarded the contract will be required to furnish a separate Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each in the amount of one-hundred twenty-five percent (125%) of the contract price before commencing work. The Performance Bond and Payment Bond shall remain in effect throughout the entire construction period and in addition a Maintenance Bond in an amount of 10% for a period of three years from the date of final completion will be required. The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Mishawaka, Indiana, reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any irregularities in bidding and to make an award in the best interest of the City. The substantial completion date for this project shall be September 30, 2024.
