Renovation of an educational facility in Athens, West Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The Owner reserves the right to conduct such investigation as necessary to determine the responsibility of a bidder, and to the extent permitted by state law; Concord University reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to make selections from the bids that are solely in the best interest of Concord University. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, executed by the Bidder and an acceptable Surety, in an amount equal to 5% of the bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for a 100% Performance and Material Payment Bond in the amount of the bid (including all add alternates), as described in the Instructions to Bidders. Each bidder shall ensure that all employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, creed, color, sex, or national origin. A Construction Change Directive is a written order prepared by the Architect and signed by the Owner and Architect, directing a change in the Work prior to agreement on adjustment, if any, in the Contract Sum or Contract Time, or both. The Owner may by Construction Change Directive, without invalidating the Contract, order changes in the Work within the general scope of the Contract consisting of additions, deletions, or other revisions, the Contract Sum and Contract Time being adjusted accordingly. The Contractor shall review every specification to fully ascertain the scope of its Work containedtherein. Any modifications made necessary as a result of such document coordination shall be brought to the attention of the Architect/Engineer immediately for resolution. Extensions of Contract time or price shall not be granted when such document coordination did not take place. General Conditions, Supplementary General Conditions and Division 1 of these specifications govern all work hereunder. The work described in this section includes restoration of any areas or site features, not designated as "to be removed," that are damaged by construction activities during the course of the execution of the contract. The work may include such repairs as turf and landscape renovation or replacement, and soil preparation such as may be necessary to return the site to an "as good as" or "better than" existing conditions. The Owner shall furnish surveys describing physical characteristics, legal limitations and utility locations for the site of the Project, and a legal description of the site. The Contractor shall be entitled to rely on the accuracy of information furnished by the Owner but shall exercise proper precautions relating to the safe performance of the Work This Section includes administrative and procedural requirements governing the Contractor's selection of products for use in the Project The deadline for questions is Wednesday, 2/28/2024 by 5pm.
