A. The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following 1. Demolition and disposal of existing sanitary sewer main and manholes along Nelson Avenue. 2. New sanitary sewer main installation and manholes. 3. Additional potential scope included in the bid alternate for sewer main replacement. 4. Restoration of all disturbed areas including pavement restoration (per the construction details). 5. All remaining scope defined on the contract drawings and within the project specifications. B. Type of Contract: 1. Project will be constructed under a single prime contract. The request for Bids consists of but is not limited to the demolition and disposal of approximately 500 linear feet of existing sanitary sewer main. New sanitary manholes will be installed and new PVC sanitary sewer main will be installed. Successful bidder shall begin the Work on receipt of the Notice to Proceed and shall complete the Work within the Contract Time. Work is subject to liquidated damages. The bidder shall be aware the project must be completed by close of business on May 24, 2024. Bid security shall be submitted with each bid in the amount of 5 percent of the bid amount. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after opening of bids. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities. This is an exempt capital improvement project, and bidders shall not include in their bid sales and compensating use taxes on the cost of materials. This Contract is subject to New York State wage rate schedules. Bidders are responsible for the timely delivery of their Bid proposal to the proper department as indicated in this "Invitation For Bids". Bid proposals received after the date and time specified in the Invitation shall be considered unresponsive and will be returned to the Bidder unopened. The Village of Cooperstown does not accept bids by Fax or Email. Bidders must be properly licensed under the laws governing their respective trades and be able to obtain insurance and bonds required for the Work.
