The Board of Commissioners (BOARD) of Sanitary District No. 6 Town of Hempstead, New York (DISTRICT) invites the submission of sealed bids for the following: RENOVATIONS & ADMINISTRATION RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT Project site: 80 Cherry Valley Avenue, West Hempstead, NY 11552 Each Bid must be accompanied by a certified or bank cashier's check made payable to Sanitary District No. 6 Town of Hempstead, or a Bid Bond naming Sanitary District No. 6 Town of Hempstead as the Obligee, issued by a surety licensed to conduct business in the State of New York and having a Best Rating of A- or better from A.M. Best Company and named in the current list of "Companies Holding Certificates of Authority as Sureties on Federal Bonds and as Acceptable Reinsuring Companies" as published Circular 570 (amended) by the Financial Management Service, Surety Bond Branch, U.S. Department of the Treasury, in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the amount of the Bid submitted. The list may be ordered from Government Printing Office Bookstore, 26 Federal Plaza, Room 110, New York New York 10278, (212) 264-3825. The certified check, cashier's check or bid bond is a commitment by the Bidder that, if its bid is accepted, it will enter into a contract to perform the work and will execute such further security and documents as may be required for the faithful performance of the contract. Each Bidder must complete and submit with its bid the "Iranian Investment Activities Certification" provided in the Bid Form in compliance with New York State General Municipal Law 103-g, Iranian Energy Sector Divestment. Each Bidder must complete and submit with its bid the "Certification of Compliance with New York State Labor Law Section 201-G" provided in the Bid Form regarding the implementation of a written policy addressing sexual harassment prevention in the workplace. Bidders are required to execute a non-collusive bidding certification required by Section 103-d of the New York State General Municipal Law. Bidders are required to comply with the anti-discrimination provisions of Sections 290-301 of the New York State Executive Law. The BOARD will determine the lowest responsible Bidder or Bidders whose bid and check shall have been made and filed in conformity herewith. No bid shall be withdrawn pending the decision of the Board. The BOARD reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any or all bids; waive, in whole or in part any informalities; to change the quantity or delete any item from bid; to accept such bid which, in the opinion of the BOARD, is in the best interests of the District; and further reserves the right to readvertise, in whole or in part, for bids. The Bidder whose bid has been accepted will be required to appear at the office of the Attorney for the District with a properly executed performance and payments bonds and the necessary insurance certificates and execute the contract within ten (10) days from the date of the service of a notice, delivered to it in person or mailed to the address given in the bid, that the contract has been awarded to it. In case of failure to execute the bonds or the contract within the time stated, the Bidder shall be deemed to have abandoned the contract and the amount of the deposit made by the Bidder will be forfeited to and retained by the District as liquidated damages.
