Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District (Midpen, District) is pleased to announce the opportunity for a full-service design team, led by a Landscape Architect or Civil Engineer, to provide professional design and engineering services for the Bear Creek Redwoods North Parking Area (Project) at the Bear Creek Redwoods Open Space Preserve. The Project creates an accessible parking area with equestrian trailer spaces and an accessible restroom on the north side of Bear Creek Redwoods Open Space Preserve and provides a connection to the planned Bear Creek Redwoods Open Space Preserve Multi-Use Trail (scope by others). The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time. Following review of the proposals submitted, selected teams may be invited to an in-person interview with Midpen, if needed. This RFPQ seeks to procure the most-qualified team to further develop the preferred conceptual design into a schematic design, progress it through design development, document the design for permitting and construction, support the bid process and engage in construction administration. The design must be code-compliant, constructable, feasible to maintain with District resources, sensitive to environmental factors, fiscally responsible, address ADA accessibility, identify and be tracking to meet jurisdictional permitting requirements, and achieve project goals. Qualified teams will demonstrate a high quality of work, cost effectiveness, and a successful track record with similar projects in the region.
