Renovation of a detention facility in Abingdon, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.

The purpose of this Invitation for Bids (IFB) is to contract with a single or multiple qualified Contractors to provide all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to paint a portion of the exterior walls on SWRJA's facility in Abingdon. The following will need to be painted: 1) All exterior walls 2) Metal stairs outside at the rear of the building 3) All exterior doors 4) All exterior metal trim 5) Metal canopy at the main entrance. Scope of Work 1. All work to be performed in a high quality workmanship manner. 2. All loose, chipping or scaling paint shall be removed by either scraping or sanding and collected for proper disposal. 3. Pressure wash all walls to remove dirt and dust prior to painting. Must allow adequate drying time prior to applying new paint. 4. Prime all bare spots on concrete walls with a high quality concrete/masonry primer before applying final coat of 100% high quality acrylic paint. The number of coats of paint is to be determined by the manufacturer of your proposed materials. 5. Any exposed electrical conduit should be painted to match the exterior walls. 6. All cracks or voids shall be filled with a high quality exterior butyl. 7. Clean up should be done daily and at the end of project. All sidewalks, shrubbery, private vehicles, and other unpainted areas are to be protected from paint droplets and spills. Paint on glass or other unpainted surfaces shall be removed so as not to leave stains or smears. 8. Paint colors at each facility shall be approved by the facility's Jail Administrator. The paint color should be tinted to match the existing paint color as closely as possible. 9. Painting shall be done on dry surfaces only.
