DeSoto County is one of the fastest growing counties in Mississippi. The county is bordered by Memphis, Tennessee, to the north and covers 478 square miles with five municipalities. DeSoto County Facilities Management is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to supply provide lawn care, landscaping services, fertilization, weed control, fall and spring flowers, osmocote, trimming of landscape and trees, mulch, and irrigation system services and repairs for certain DeSoto County buildings. This contract will receive oversight and management from the Office of Facilities Management. The county intends to select one or more vendors to supply equipment and services herein on an all-inclusive basis for the services described. It is the intent of DeSoto County to award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible vendor(s). The county reserves the right to determine the lowest and best vendor(s) on the basis of category within the bid, or in any way determined to be in the best interest of DeSoto County. The county or the contractor/vendor may have the right to cancel the bid award during the bid term with a 30 day written notice. Withdrawal of Bids After Bid Opening: Bidder agrees that its offer may not be withdrawn or cancelled by the vendor for a period of ninety (90) days following the date and time designated for the receipt of bids unless otherwise stated in the bid and/or specifications. The Board of Supervisors reserves the right to reject any and all bids and waive any informalities. The party awarded the bid must submit, within ten (10) days of the bid award, and before beginning the work or signing a contract, a performance bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the total amount of the bid. Said performance bond shall be made out in favor of DeSoto County, Mississippi and issued by a Surety company qualified and licensed to do business in the State of Mississippi and acceptable to DeSoto County, Mississippi. In lieu of the performance bond the party awarded the bid may post certified check, bank check, cashier's check, money order or letter of credit from a bank with an office in DeSoto County upon which the letter may be drawn, in the same amount may be submitted in lieu of the bid bond. The party awarded the bid must submit, within ten (10) days of the bid award, and before beginning the work or signing a contract, a payment bond payable in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%), conditioned for the prompt payment of all persons supplying labor or material used in the prosecution of the work under said contract and for protection of those parties.
