The City of Muscatine is soliciting bids for tree removal and trimming services for the Nuisance Abatement Program. The City of Muscatine is requesting proposals for tree trimming and removal services on an on-call basis for a period of two (2) years as part of the Nuisance Abatement Program or for other nonroutine City activities. Contract may be renewed for 3 additional 1 year terms. The selected respondent to this request for bids shall serve as an independent contractor (not an employee) and therefore shall not be entitled to any employee benefits. Jobs completed under the resultant contract will be calculated on an hourly basis with a one (1) hour minimum for both tree removal and tree trimming services. Proposed rates should include hourly rates for each service to be available under the contract. Anticipated services include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Remove trees and stumps 2. Trim trees 3. Chip trees and remove chips, debris, etc. 4. Remove fallen trees 5. Dispose of all materials in an approved manner Tree services shall be performed at the request of the City of Muscatine Community Development Director or the Director's designee. Request for services shall be completed within 24 hours unless a longer completion time is requested and approved by the Community Development Department.
