Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Farmersburg, Indiana. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; bridge / tunnel; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

The Project will be constructed in one (1) contract division which is defined and outlined as follows: Stormwater Improvements Project the Project consists of five (5) work areas throughout Farmersburg. In general, each work area features various proposed measures to improve drainage in the area such as proposed storm sewer, proposed swales, and inspection/rehabilitation of existing drainage infrastructure. Work Area 1 is located on the east and west side of existing railroad through the Town. Proposed improvements in the area are new roadside swales along Gallagher Street and improved existing outfall at 415 1st Avenue. Additionally, replacement of an existing inlet and reconstruction of existing sidewalk is proposed along 1st Street. Work Area 2 is located along Hampton Street, Heap Street, and 2nd Avenue. The proposed work in this area includes a new 12" storm sewer along Hampton and Heap Street with inlets in existing low areas to capture runoff. The proposed storm sewer connects to work area 1 via a proposed storm sewer traveling through plotted 2nd Avenue right of way. Work Area 3 is located between County Road 200 E and S 6th Avenue. Improvements to the area are cleaning and re-grading swale between 6th Avenue and 7th Avenue along the plotted Hampton Street right of way. Continue re-grading of swale along the west side of 6th Avenue where the swale discharges to an existing 10 culvert. Existing 10" culvert to be replaced with 15" culvert and direct water to natural flowline at outlet. Lastly, proposed inlet near County Road 200 to capture runoff from the area and proposed concrete cradle to cover existing exposed sanitary sewer. Work Area 4 is located near the intersection of Cyrus Street and Second Street. The proposed work in the area is re-grading existing swales north of Cyrus Street. Additionally, a new swale on the east side of 1st Street and along the railroad is proposed. Inlet cleaning and storm sewer televising are proposed along the existing storm sewer located in 2nd Street. Work Area 5 is located between 6th Street and 5th Street and along Ohio Street. Hybrid swales located within utility easement between 5th and 6th Street are proposed to remove standing water in the area and convey south via 12" storm sewer. The proposed storm sewer heads east at Ohio Street and continues through the utility right of way easement before out falling to unnamed tributary of Turman Creek All interested citizens are invited to attend, and should any citizens require special provisions, such as handicapped modifications or non-English translation personnel, the Town will provide such provisions as long as the request is made by February 28, 2024. The work to be performed and the bid to be submitted shall include sufficient and proper sums for all general construction, mechanical installation, labor, materials, permits, licenses, insurance, and so forth incidental to and required for the construction of the facilities. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check or acceptable bidder's bond made payable to the Owner, in a sum of not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the highest aggregate bid, which check or bond will be held by the Owner as evidence that the bidder will, if awarded the contract, enter into the same with the Owner upon notification from him to do so within ten (10) days of said notification. Approved performance and payment bonds guaranteeing faithful and proper performance of the work and materials, to be executed by an acceptable surety company, will be required of the Contractor at the time of contract execution. The bonds will be in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price and must be in full force and effect throughout the term of the Construction Contract plus a period of twelve (12) months from the date of substantial completion, The Owner reserves the right to reject any bid, or all bids, or to accept any bid or bids, or to make such combination of bids as may seem desirable, and to waive any and all informalities in bidding. Questions will be taken until 5:00 p.m. local time on Friday, February 23rd, 2024, Bidders shall submit all questions to the Engineer in writing via email at: bgrotz@hwcengineering.com
