The Contractor shall perform everything required to be performed and shall provide and furnish all of the labor, materials, necessary tools, expendable equipment and complete in a workmanlike manner all the work required in connection with the construction of the FY2023 Sidewalk Infill Project in Sioux City, Iowa. This project has two sites. Site One is located at 34th Street and Dupont Street and includes the construction of new sidewalk and sidewalk ramps on 34th Street and Dupont Street; Site 2 is located on Fremar Drive and includes connecting the sidewalk to the existing trail on Outer Drive. Each bid must be made on a form furnished by the City and must be accompanied by a bid bond, a cashier's check or certified check of an Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States, or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, made payable to the City Treasurer of the City of Sioux City, Iowa. The check or draft may be cashed by the City Treasurer as liquidated damages in the event the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract within the ten (10) days after notice of award and post bond satisfactory to the City ensuring the faithful fulfillment of the contract. This project has two sites. Site 1: 34th Street and Dupont Street has a late start date of August 19, 2024 and twenty-five working days. Site 2: Fremar Drive has a late start date of September 9, 2024 and seven working days The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. However, the City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, readvertise for new bids and to waive informalities that may be in the best interest of the City. By virtue of statutory authority, a preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the state of Iowa and to Iowa domestic labor. Specifications for this project shall be the 2024 version of the Iowa Statewide Urban Standard Specifications for Public Improvements modified in accordance with the 2022 version of the City of Sioux City Supplement. Document note: The deposit will be returned to depositor if the construction documents are returned in good condition within fourteen (14) days from date of award. QA deadline 02/27/2024 All questions about the meaning or intent of the bidding documents shall be submitted to the Engineer in writing. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by the Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda, via the contact information provided on the plan holder's list. Only answers issued by Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect.
