The CIUSSS du Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean, client, wishes to enlist the services of architectural and engineering professionals with the necessary expertise to carry out a mandate to modernize the alarm system and fire protection. of the real estate complex of the Chicoutimi Hospital and the Jonquiere hospital. Professionals must ensure all the interdisciplinary coordination required by this type of work in a building occupied by sensitive clients and for whom these buildings are essential for the provision of care required by their health conditions. Although the work is carried out in busy hospital environments, professionals must have strong expertise in fire protection and alarm and large-scale network systems. Chicoutimi Hospital The Chicoutimi hospital building complex is made up of several buildings (4 separate buildings in total) housing the different wings of the Hospital with a total area of more than 91,967 m2. The main building made up of a group of extensions of adjoining construction where each of the parts represents one of the eight wings of the main building (from A to G and the Augustines monastery) These were built at different times, of configuration and of different heights. The different parts communicate with each other, at almost all levels including the basement, via the common wall(s). The entire main building is served by several interior staircases and exterior stairwells, some of which are unheated, a dozen elevators, 3 freight elevators, 4 document elevators and several laundry chutes. The three other buildings are physically distinct but communicate with each other via pedestrian tunnels at basement level. These buildings are smaller, two have two floors, the I and J wings. The fourth building is four floors and houses the H wing. Jonquiere Hospital The Jonquiere hospital is housed in a single building. The main building is made up of an expansion group representing each of the wings of the building (wing A to E), for a total area of more than 26240.7 m2. Wing A has a section of eight floors. The master fire alarm panel was replaced in January 2024. For the two hospital centers, several development works have been carried out over the years, in different places in the different wings. Some smaller-scale work was limited to a few rooms of an existing floor area. For larger-scale works, either during the complete redevelopment of a floor or more and/or in conjunction with the expansion of a wing, the compliance of these spaces has been achieved, locally, according to the regulations in force at the time. Works. In parallel with the development projects, several asset maintenance works have been carried out, which improves the level of compliance. Currently, several components of the fire protection and alarm system are discontinued and/or incompatible with the technologies and software currently on the market. This greatly limits the ability to improve the level of compliance in terms of fire protection in the operational context of the CIUSSS. It is therefore necessary to replace the infrastructure of the current fire protection and alarm system with one or more technologies that will support future compliance and standardization needs.
