Renovation of a fire / police facility in Amherst, New Hampshire. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 5,200-square-foot fire / police facility.

The Town of Amherst NH is inviting proposals for contract at the Town Administrator's Office, 2 Main Street, Amherst, New Hampshire for removal of approximately 5,200 square feet of shingle roofing covering at the Amherst Police Department, and apply new roofing as described on page 2 and in detail in Attachment B. Replacement of the Amherst Police department roof, including replacement of all drip edge, vent boots and flashing, and replacement of any damaged wood roof deck sheets as necessary and as described in Attachment B, Scope of Work. Time and effort spent for bid preparation is the responsibility of the bidder. The act of submitting a bid is considered to be full acknowledgement that the bidder has inspected the sites and is familiar with the conditions. The Contractor is responsible for confirming all field measurements. All work shall be performed in accordance with the NH State Building Code. The Town reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to waive irregularities in the proposals, and to accept the proposal which best serves the interest of the Town. The contractor shall be responsible for obtaining all necessary permits. Scope of Work Replacement of 5,200 Sq.Ft. (approximate) Asphalt Shingle Roofing 1. The existing roof shall be stripped to the wooden roof deck and all debris shall be disposed of. 2. Tarp and protect siding as necessary on a daily basis. 3. Daily clean up to include removing all job-related debris and sweeping all ground surfaces with magnet to remove any nails from yard and driveway. 4. Carefully examine the wooden deck by a team to include the Contractor and Public Works Director (or his designee) to determine necessary wooden deck replacement. Renail any loose wood. If bad or rotten wood is discovered (this will be figured separately into the bid on a time and material basis, listed on page 4 of this document). 5. Apply new underlayment, CertainTeed Roof Runner or equivalent, to the entire roof surface. 6. Install starter strip plus shingles along all eaves and rakes along entire perimeter of the roof line. 7. Install 30-year Architectural shingles. 8. Flash all walls and roof penetrations as per manufacturer's specifications. 9. Replace all vent boots. 10. Install new 8" aluminum drip edge. Color to match roof color. 11. Provide documentation of length of membrane warranty and option the cost of a labor warranty for the same length of time. The date of commencement shall be the date of award by the Board of Selectmen. The Contractor shall commence work within 2 weeks of Notice of Award, and be substantially completed by June 14, 2024, with final completion by June 28, 2024. Dates may change subject to adjustments by change order.
