Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in West Burlington, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and educational facility.

The Project consists of general site improvements at the West Burlington, Iowa, campus including: 10,868 SF of 7 PCC pavement with 6 aggregate base course, geofabric, and associated pavement markings, 1,179 SF of 4 PCC pavement with 6 aggregate base course, and minor landscape work including turf reinforcement mat and erosion control measures. An Additive Alternate will be included at a per linear foot rate based on available funding, including: 24 LF width of 7 PCC pavement with 6 aggregate base course, geofabric, and associated pavement markings, and minor landscape work including erosion control measures. Work on the Project shall commence on May 13, 2024 and shall be substantially complete by June 29, 2024. Base bids must be a lump sum basis for a single Combined Construction Contract as described in the specifications with an Additive Alternate. Each bid shall be made on a form furnished by the Engineer and shall be sealed in an envelope. The bid bond/bid security shall be 5% of the bid and submitted in a separate envelope. The bidder's security shall be in the form of a cashier's check or a certified check drawn on an FDIC insured bank in Iowa or on an FDIC insured bank chartered under the laws of the United States; or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States; or a Bid Bond on the form provided in the Contract Documents with corporate Surety satisfactory to the Board of Trustees of South eastern Community College. The bid shall contain no condition except as provided in the specifications. Bid security shall be made payable to South eastern Community College. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond both in an amount equal to 100% of the Contract Price and in accordance with other requirements outlined in the Bid Documents. These Bonds will be required of the Contractor, within 10 days of Notice of Intention to Award. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids, or any part thereof, and to waive informalities as allowed by law, and to enter into such contract or contracts as shall be deemed in the best interests of Southeastern Community College. Additionally, the Board of Trustees reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to not proceed with the project due to problems arising in procurement of the property and/or issues with municipal Planning and Zoning approval.
