Renovation of a fire / police facility in Chelsea, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.
The existing apparatus floor at the Mill Hill Fire Station (also known as Engine Company No. 3) spans two bays and is no longer structurally sufficient to support the operations of the fire house with modern pump and ladder vehicles. This project requires the demolition, repair and replacement of the apparatus slab and associated structural, electrical and plumbing work to complete the repairs. The building must remain in operation 24/7 so the project will require phased construction to permit access to the upper floors and allow one bay to remain in service at all times. The successful bidder is responsible for coordinating temporary facilities and storage of MEP components and equipment currently located under the apparatus floor to allow for the work to be completed.
