Renovation of a parking garage in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a parking garage.
This project requests funding to support the City's involvement in a Public-Private Partnership (P3) to construct a fire-rescue substation within the Heron Garage on Las Olas Boulevard. The station will feature two servicing bays and accommodations for up to seven (7) fire fighters. This fire station will serve the Las Olas corridor and surrounding areas as needed. The developer will provide the structure of the building and will be responsible for certain specified elements of the construction, including hard costs, as defined in the agreement. Upon completion of construction, the City will be responsible for finishing the interior of the station and equipping it for full operational readiness. The project is included in the City's 2026-2030 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of March 17, 2026, further details have not yet been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
