Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Ocala, Florida. Design plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

As of April 1, 2025, an engineer has been selected and this project is in the design phase. It may be a year or more from now before construction starts. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The Consultant will review the existing Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) and provide design services for the Project in accordance with the Marion County Standards, Marion County Land Development Code (LDC), the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Design and Construction standards, and all other applicable local, federal, and state agency code requirements. The new road design should include a four (4) lane-divided roadway with twelve-foot lanes and a four-foot paved outside shoulder on either side of the roadway, a twentyfour-foot grassed median, curb and gutter, a twelve-foot wide multi-use path on the east side of the roadway, and a five-foot wide sidewalk on the west side of the roadway with appropriate ADA markings and slope according to the Federal Guidelines. The new four-lane roadway will also include a new wildlife crossing over or under SW 49th Avenue to allow for the safe movement of animals across land areas. The work will also include determining if the existing conspan wildlife crossing, currently used by hikers and horseback riders that is located about 600 feet south of the second proposed wildlife crossing, is adequate or needs to be expanded to accommodate the new four-lane roadway. A PER was completed in 2023; the typical section, Alternative B alignment, wildlife crossings information, and DRAs are to be used from the PER. The proposed design speed will be 45 miles per hour.
