Renovation of a pre-engineered storage facility in Carthage, North Carolina. Working plans call for the renovation of a pre-engineered storage facility.

As of March 20th, 2024 - this project has been postponed to an undetermined date. Sandhills Community College (SCC) is seeking competitive pricing from Licensed NC General Contractors to design, build, manage, inspect, coordinate, supervise, and complete a PreEngineered Metal Building with all foundations, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing requirements per attached drawing. Contractor will provide all necessary clearing, grading and stormwater work. Contractor will provide all required plans and prints in accord with local code enforcement. SCC reserves the right to reject any and all quotes. WORK INCLUDES: The Contractor shall furnish all necessary labor, materials, equipment, and services to include necessary site preparation, grading and clearing to erect a preengineered metal building as described herein. A. Site Preparation, Clearing and Grading Contractor shall provide for all clearing, grading and site preparation to include gravel parking area sufficient for rated occupancy and paved parking areas necessary to accommodate ADA access. Site should be graded so as to facilitate storm water drainage. Contractor shall operate in compliance with NCDEQ regulations. B. Pre-Engineered Metal Building Base Building: 40'-0" x 120'-0" x 14'-0" 1. Building shall meet current North Carolina State Building Code. 2. All primary and secondary steel shall receive one coat of red oxide primer paint. 3. Gutter and downspouts on both sidewalls. 4. Roof panels shall be 26 gauge. 5. Wall panels shall be 26 gauge. 6. Roof shall have R-30 Insulation, or greater. 7. Walls shall have R-19 Insulation, or greater. 8. (9) Interior 3'-0" x 7'-0" metal door frames with solid metal doors and hardware 9. (1) Exterior 3'-0" x 7'-0" metal door frames with solid metal doors and hardware 10. (3) Exterior double metal doors and frames with door hardware 11. (8) 3'-0"x 5'-0" double hung vinyl clad windows 12. Include a minimum 4" reinforced concrete slab poured for assembly and erection of Pre-engineered Building 13. Area including the two entry doors will be storefront 14. Exterior Finish, front will be partially brick veneered, owner to select brick 15. A manually operated divider wall constructed as depicted on supplied drawing 16. A suitable overhanging roof covering for the depicted entry areas is to be supplied C. Interior Finishes 1. Classrooms on each end of the building will have a removable room divider wall 2. Interior walls to be 25 gauge 3-5/8" metal studs 16" on center (oc). 3. 5/8" fire code drywall on all walls. 4. Restrooms shall have partition walls. 5. Acoustical ceiling (Entry Corridors, Restroom Area, Closets and Office area ) 24"x 24" class A prefinished white 15/16" Armstrong ceiling grid, Armstrong Cortega #770 square edge tile. 6. Kitchen Counter with sink in Break room area D. Floor Covering Concrete flooring throughout building shall be free from blemishes and/or stains and finished with a hard, smooth, skid resistant surface. E. Electrical, Communications, Plumbing and Sewer System Connect all utilities to include electrical, water, and sewer waste to local utility provider according to local codes. Provide all necessary electrical and plumbing according to supplied drawing locations in coordination with owner. Provide (2) unused 1" conduit stub ups into the IT Closet for communications access F. Plumbing 1. Plumbing fixtures to include: a. Men's Restroom: i. (1) Handicap toilet ii. (2) Wall hung urinals iii. (1) Counter mounted sink iv. (1) Shower v. (1) Wall mounted mirror b. Women's restroom: i. (3) Handicap toilets ii. (1) Counter mounted sink iii. (1) shower iv. (1) wall mounted mirror c. Break room Area: i. (1) Counter Mounted sink d. Custodial Room: i. (1) Mop sink 2. (1) 50 gallon water heater 3. (3) Outside hose bibs 4. Handicap bars as necessary in restrooms G. Mechanical 1. (2) Heat Pumps with condensing units 410A Freon 230/1 2. Return air filters shall be 2" 3. (2) 7-Day programmable thermostats 4. (2) Vent toilet exhausts (fans by electrical) 5. Free blown air with exposed duct work in areas without ceiling 6. Lay-in registers in areas with ceiling grid 7. (2) Emergency drain pans with float switch controls 8. Exterior units mounted on prefab pad at rear of building (see drawings) 9. Interior Units located as needed 10. (2) Duct detectors H. Electrical 1. (1) 3'x3' CT cabinet for electrical service connection 2. (2) 200 amp single phase panels 3. LED Flat panel fixtures, all lighting shall be LED 4. Lights in restrooms corridors will be controlled by occupancy sensors 5. Classroom lights shall be controlled by switches 6. (3) Wall pack lights and (2) front door lights controlled by a photo cells 7. (14) quad receptacles 8. (3) GFCI for restrooms and Custodial Closet 9. (1) Dedicated quad receptacle for IT Server Closet 10. (4) Waterproof GFCI's 11. (2) Runs of 3/4 "conduit with pull-string for future networking into Comm Closet 12. (1) - Hi/Lo water cooler 13. Switches to control Offices, Custodial Room, and Comm. Closet IV. QUALIFICATIONS OF WORKMEN A. As a manufactured product, the design, detailing, fabrication, and erection of preengineered metal building shall be performed by, or under the direct supervision, of a Registered Professional Engineer who is a permanent full-time employee of the manufacturer of the pre-engineered metal building. B. Pre-engineered metal building shall be erected by the manufacturer or by a factory authorized and licensed erection subcontractor. C. All subcontractors shall be licensed by the State of North Carolina in their respective trades and possess valid, current, and appropriate liability insurance coverage.
