Elma-create Univesally Accessible Trail The Work includes but is not limited to: construction of .75 mile stabilized trail with stone edge improvements on existing El Calderon Trail and construction of a new trail to the existing vault restroom from the parking lot all and spur trail to Junction Cave boardwalk to meet Architectural Barriers Accessibility Act Standards (ABAAS) and Outdoor Recreation Access Routes (ORAR); installation of a structural steel ABAAS compliant boardwalk system into Junction Cave through a boulder trench, installation of steel and cable guardrails adjacent three designated cave openings, development and installation of a new amphitheater with welded steel gabion framed benches with a stone cap and stone steps set into a hillside; relocation of existing trail signage and fabrication and placement of new steel wayside frames, installation of ABAAS parking on a concrete slab with markings and signage, removal and replacement of wood bollards and placement of 3" of gravel improvements to the parking lot and section of an existing dirt road. Project area is in a volcanic landscape and contains sensitive resources. Use of small equipment for trail and amphitheater construction will be required.
