Renovation of a detention facility in Hilo, Hawaii. Completed plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.
Mechanical and Electrical Systems Repairs and Improvements, Phase 3. The work generally consists of replacing the existing Fire Alarm system with a new addressable alarm system, including all new fire alarm devices, conduit, wiring, electrical service, and fire alarm controls. Additional electrical work in the Punahele building will be required for future security scanning equipment. Bidders shall comply with all access requirements of the facility or the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. Each Bidder shall bring their own flashlight and small tools that may be required to inspect the premises. Bidders and interested parties are required to sign-in and sign out at the meetings to confirm attendance. The estimated value of the public works contract is $250,000 or more and the apprenticeship agreement preference pursuant to Hawaii Revised Statutes. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. The estimated construction cost is between $2.5 million and $5 million.
