https://www.bizjournals.com/southflorida/news/2024/02/16/south-florida-airports-federal-infrastructure-aid.html MIA to receive $27 million: The FAA is funding two projects at Miami International Airport, including the rehabilitation of the existing automated people mover and a portion of the airport's modernization redevelopment for its central terminal, Concourse E and Concourse F. _____________________________________________________________________________________ The County Mayor, Miami-Dade County, pursuant to Chapter 287.055 of Florida Statutes, and Sections 2-8.1 and 2-10.4 of the Miami-Dade County Code, Implementing Order 3-34, Administrative Order 3-39 of Miami-Dade County, announces that the Miami-Dade Aviation Department (MDAD) is seeking an A/E consultant services for the Central Terminal Redevelopment Phase 1 at Miami International Airport. SCOPE OF SERVICES AND TERMS The project is to provide Architectural and Engineering Professional Services for the Central Terminal Redevelopment Phase 1 at Miami International Airport. This project includes proposed improvements within Terminal and Concourse "E" and "F," which involve demolition, renovations, and new building infill. The specific details and elements of the project can be found in the Project Definition Document Verification book. The project includes but is not limited to the following elements: o New four-level infill between concourses E-F: to be achieved through a phased demolition plan and partial removal of existing building areas, including the Ramp, Concourse and third levels. Within this structure to include shell space for future FIS Facility and support spaces. o New Sterile corridor between E-F: to preserve the sterile right-of-way to the North Terminal FIS. o New Secured connector/circulation between E-F: New secure circulation to facilitate passenger circulation between Concourse "E" to "F" geared towards improving the customer experience and enhance revenue generation. o New Concession spaces between E-F: Opportunities have been identified to include additional concessions to offer new concepts and diverse options. o Spaces for future Hold rooms: To organize passenger flows and maximize commercial program exposure. o New infrastructure to include new passenger and conveying systems to support facility operations (passenger and freight elevators, escalators, etc.) Dedicated delivery point for goods and services to be included within the new infill building to serve four floors. o Expansion of Concourse F Checkpoint: New location is proposed to simplify passenger circulation and integrate portions of the relocated Concourse F Security Checkpoint. o Design professional is required and responsible to interface and coordinate with various adjacent and enabling projects. The County intends to a qualified consultant/team of firms for a Non-Exclusive Professional Services Agreement (PSA) with an effective term of seven (7) years. Preferred Experience and Qualifications: It is preferred that the prime has ten (10) years of experience designing/renovating airport facilities at major airport hubs, including post-security areas and terminal infrastructure. Prime and/or subconsultants should have experience with designing and upgrading airport terminals. It is highly preferred that the Prime and/or Sub-consultants (Team) submitting a proposal be experienced in the design, construction documents, permitting and construction administration and management services of Public Safety Facilities.
