Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Urbandale, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

Base Bid: Furnish all labor, materials and equipment required for installing 3,545 linear feet of 16 PVC (trenched), 400 linear feet Certa-lok 16 PVC (trenchless), associated valves, hydrants, anchor spool, 4 ductile iron pipe, fittings, and service lines as outlined in the bid documents. This shall include replacement of sidewalk, driveway and street pavement, erosion control, traffic control, utility exploration, finish grading and seed placement, and other miscellaneous items described in the bid documents. Each proposal shall be made out on a blank form furnished by the Board and must be accompanied in a sealed envelope with a second sealed envelope including either (1) a certified or cashier's check, drawn on a solvent Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States, or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States, in an amount equal to 10% of the bid or (2) a bid bond executed by a corporation authorized to contract as a surety in the State of Iowa, in the penal sum of 10% of the bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Said bond to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the Board and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the contract and the terms and conditions therein contained. Said bond shall protect and save harmless the Board from claims and damages of any kinds caused by the operation of the contractor. Said bond shall also guarantee the maintenance of the improvements for a period of four (4) years from and after completion and acceptance by the Board. All work on this project must be completed by June 28, 2024. Work under the contract shall commence within ten (10) calendar days after date set forth in written Notice to Proceed, and shall be completed, subject to any extensions of time which may be granted by the Board. Liquidated damages in the amount of Five Hundred Dollars ($500) per calendar day will be assessed for each day that the work shall remain uncompleted after the end of the contract period. These take into account all due allowances for extensions of the contract period due to conditions beyond the control of the contractor.
