Water Storage Tank Rehabilitation: The work consists of rehabilitation to three (3)welded steel tanks and minor repairs to one (1) concrete tank. The West Lawrence Water Authority has obtained a Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) loan through the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM) and seeks to make improvements to the water system. Compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws, rules, and regulations are required. General contractors who bid must purchase at minimum the digital plans and specifications. Documents are available at reproduction cost with no refunds available. Plans and specifications will not be issued to contractors less than forty-eight (48)hours prior to the time indicated above for receiving bids. Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds, proof of insurance, and a complete list of subcontractors and suppliers will be required prior to the signing of the Contract. A Performance Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract costs and Labor and Material Payment Bond in an amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract cost in the form and terms approved by West Lawrence Water Authority will be required at the signing of the contract. In addition, the Contractor must furnish to West Lawrence Water Authority at the time of the signing of the contract a certificate of insurance coverage as provided in the specifications. The right is reserved to reject any and/or all bids and to waive informalities and to furnish any item of material or work to change the amount of said Contract. No bids will be considered unless the bidder, whether resident or non-resident of Alabama, is properly qualified to submit a bid for this construction in accordance with all applicable laws of the State of Alabama. This shall include evidence of holding a current license from the State Licensing Board for General Contractors, Montgomery, Alabama, as required by Chapter 8 of Title 34, of the Code of Alabama, 1975. In addition, non-residents of the State, if a corporation, shall show evidence of having qualified with the Secretary of State to do business in the State of Alabama. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for a period of sixty (60) days. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technical errors if the best interest of the Owner will thereby be promoted. All bids received after the date and time of the bid opening noted above will be returned unopened.
