Demolition, site work, paving and addition to a civil project in Burgaw, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the addition of a water / sewer project; for the demolition of a water / sewer project; for site work for a water / sewer project; road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

Under the General Statues of North Carolina, Section 143-128.1 (A), the Town of Bur-gaw is seeking proposals from qualified and licensed design-build firms/teams in-terested in providing engineering, surveying, permitting, and construction administration services for the Phase II Expansion of the Osgood Canal Greenway and Urban Trail. Contractors mailing responses should allow delivery time to ensure timely receipt of their proposals. Questions, requests for information, and inquiries related to the RFQ shall be submitted in writing to Cody Suggs at csuggs@burga wnc.gov no later than February 19, 2024, by 3:00 pm. The Town of Burgaw reserves the right to reject any proposals. The issuance of the RFQ does not commit the Town of Burgaw to award a contract, pay any costs incurred in preparing a proposal, or pro-cure or contract for related services or supplies. Project Site The project will begin on the South side of town at Pender Memorial Park (county facility), 601 S. Smith Street Burgaw, NC 28425, and finish on the North side at the NCDOT rail bed along Bridgers Street. Project Scope The current project will require engineering, surveying, permitting, and construction administration of 9,000 LF of additional trail to extend on the West Side of the corporate limits of Burgaw. The project will consist of multi-purpose asphalt paths, ADA sidewalks, drainage piping, catch basins, pedestrian walking/biking lanes, hi-visibility pedestrian crosswalks, and rapid flashing beacons. The trail will pass through mostly Town rights-of-way in addition to County and State easements. The Town estimates 2,361 LF of 8' wide asphalt walking path, 2,040 LF of drainage pipe, 25 catch basins, 6,588 LF of standard ADA sidewalks, 1,838 LF of pedestrian walking/biking lanes, hivisibility pedestrian crosswalks, and six sets of pedestrian rapid flashing beacons. The delivery method of this project will be design-build. The awarded firm/team will be expected to fulfill the terms of the design-build contract by delivering a finished, entirely usable, operational, and code-compliant facility that satisfies the Town's project requirements. Estimated Budget The forecasted budget is $886,816 for engineering, survey, permitting, construction-related expenses, and any and all other professional service fees, costs, and expenses necessary to fully complete an operational project.
