Contractor shall provide all materials, tools, machinery, labor, and supervision necessary for the performance of periodic roadside litter cleanup along selected roadways in the vicinity of Beaufort County Solid Waste Collection Sites. Services shall be performed at ten (10) locations (as detailed in Exhibit 1) twice per fiscal year, during the months of July and January. It is anticipated that the contract would begin July 1, 2024 The initial term of the contract awarded as a result of this RFP shall be for one year from July 1, 2024 until June 30, 2025. A lump sum proposal shall be submitted for the services outlined in the RFP. The proposal form also has an area for submitting a price per hour for on-call roadside cleanup services. This would strictly be as needed, and Beaufort County is under no obligation to request these services from the proposer who is awarded the Periodic Roadside Cleanup contract. Litter shall be collected between the edge of pavement and the back edge of the drainage ditch along both sides of the designated roadways. Litter includes all types of waste larger than the palm of the hand found along the right-of-way. All litter shall be bagged or secured for transportation to the disposal site. Precautions shall be taken to prevent spillage and blown material. Contractor shall transport all collected litter, except as outlined in #6) to the Republic Services Transfer Station at 450 Flanders Filters Rd, Washington, NC 27889. Disposal costs for the waste will be billed to the County by Republic Services and shall not be included in the pricing provided. No waste shall be disposed of at the County Solid Waste Collection Sites, except as outlined in #6. Tires shall be delivered to the Beaufort County Landfill at 1342 Hawkins Beach Road, Washington, NC 27889. The site is open to the public on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, however after-hours access to the site can be arranged.
