Site work for a water / sewer project in Georgetown, Delaware. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The work detailed in the New Marydels Road, Tanglewood, and Oak Acres Sanitary Sewer Extension Project will be bid as one prime contract for two segments of work. Award of the contract will be based on the lowest responsible Bidder for the total of both segments of work. A brief description of work for each contract segment is as follows: Segment A, New Marydels Road and Tanglewood Sanitary Sewer Extension Project: Segment A includes the furnishing and installation of approximately 1,950 linear feet of 8 PVC gravity sewer main; 450 linear feet of 4 PVC gravity sewer laterals; 65 vertical feet of 4 diameter sanitary sewer manhole with seven (7) frame and covers; and 40 feet of jack and bore. The work shall also include dewatering and hot-mix asphalt pavement restoration and overlay and stone road restoration. Segment B, Oak Acres Sanitary Sewer Extension Project: Segment B includes the furnishing and installation of approximately 3,650 linear feet of 8 PVC gravity sewer main; 1,550 linear feet of 4 PVC gravity sewer laterals; 100 vertical feet of 4 diameter sanitary sewer manhole with 10 frame and covers; and 2 (two) E-one type watertight simplex grinder stations with approximately 350 linear feet of 1 HDPE LPP sewer force main. The work shall also include dewatering and hot-mix asphalt pavement restoration and overlay. Time allotted for achieving Substantial Completion for both Segment A and Segment B shall be 240 Calendar Days. Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on unit price basis as indicated in the Bid Form. Document Notes : The non-refundable cost of printed Bidding Documents is $200.00 per set, payable to George, Miles & Buhr. Upon Issuing Office s receipt of payment, printed Bidding Documents will be sent via the prospective Bidder s delivery method of choice. Bidding Documents will be sent via UPS/FedEx Ground Service; overnight requests will be billed to the prospective bidder. The date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the Issuing Office will be considered the prospective Bidder s date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office. The Issuing Office for the Bidding Documents is: GEORGE, MILES & BUHR, LLC, 206 West Main Street, Salisbury, Maryland, (410) 742-3115. Prospective Bidders may examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office as described below. Any Contractor having questions concerning the bid should submit them in writing via email to James Hoageson, P.E. Project Manager, at jhoageson@gmbnet.com no later than 12:00 p.m., Thursday, February 29, 2024. Questions should include the project name (NEW MARYDELS ROAD, TANGLEWOOD, AND OAK ACRES SANITARY SEWER EXTENSION PROJECT) in the subject heading. Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. This project is being funded by the Delaware Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF). The following provisions shall apply to this construction contract: a. Delaware Prevailing Wage Regulations. b. Federal Davis-Bacon Wage Provisions. c. The President s Executive Order no. 11246 which prohibits discrimination in employment regarding race, color, sex, or national origin under the Equal Opportunity Clause (41 CFR 60-1.4). d. Certification of Non-segregated Facilities (41 CFR 60-1.8). e. Civil Rights Act of 1964. f. American Iron and Steel (AIS) Requirements under P.L. 113-76 Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2014. g. Compliance with Delaware s Drug Testing for Large Public Works Contracts (75 Del. Laws, c.283, 1). If the responding Bidder deems any portion of its response to contain trade secrets, proprietary or other confidential information, it shall isolate and identify in writing the confidential portions, together with a statement in support of its designation as such. The submission shall be confidential until the bid has been awarded and a contract has been executed. Thereafter, all submissions shall be open to public inspection. For all further requirements regarding bid submittal, qualifications, procedures, and contract award, refer to the Instructions to Bidders that are included in the Bidding Documents. Sussex County reserves the right to extend the time and place of Bid Opening on not less than two (2) calendar days notice by certified delivery, electronic delivery, or facsimile.
