The City of Victoria is seeking offers from qualified Contractors to supply and install four new wood (cedar) poles at the Cricket Pitch at Beacon Hill Park. One of the existing wood poles has failed and three other poles should be replaced. Work is to include but not limited to: remove existing timber poles; dispose of existing poles as per the BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure and the BC Ministry of Forests, Lands, and Natural Resource Operations treated wood disposal guidelines. retain and secure existing netting, wiring and fasteners, for re-installation. supply four new treated 55’ tall cedar poles, min 12” diameter, Class 1. install new poles in line with the current best practices as per BC Hydro. supply and install guy wires similar to existing, two guywires for each end pole, one guywire for both middle poles. re-install existing net, all wiring and fasteners, at height approx. 10-15’ higher than existing position. supply and install borate rods at the base of the pole. as per BC Hydro standard. City to provide: supply and placement of plywood for aerial truck/crane access to prevent damage to turf notifications to user groups and coordinate closure of tennis and lawn bowling facilities while work is under construction.
