The Project includes the following Work: Construction of approximately 550 linear feet of a new rural roadway consisting of all grubbing, roadway grading, salvaged base aggregate, base aggregate dense 1 1/4 - inch, 18-inch CMP culverts, 24-inch CMP culverts, riprap, erosion control, traffic control, double chip seal, restoration including salvaged topsoil, seeding, fertilizer and erosion mat. No Proposal Will Be Accepted Unless Accompanied by a Certified Check or Bid Bond Equal to at Least 5% of the Amount Bid, Payable to the Town as a Guarantee That, if the Bid is Accepted, the Bidder Will Execute and File the Proper Contract and Bond Within 15 Days After the Award of the Contract. The Certified Check or Bid Bond Will Be Returned to the Bidder as Soon as the Contract is Signed, and if After 15 Days the Bidder Shall Fail to Do So, the Certified Check or Bid Bond Shall Be Forfeited to the Town as Liquidated Damages. No Bidder May Withdraw Their Bid Within 60 Days After the Actual Date of the Opening Thereof. The Minimum Wages to Be Paid on the Project Shall Be in Accordance With the Wage Rate Scale Established by Local Wage Rates. Town reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to TOWN in writing. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by the TOWN in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda mailed or delivered to all parties recorded by TOWN as having received the Bidding Documents. Questions received less than ten days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. Only questions answered by Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect The Project has an expected duration of 40 calendar days from start of construction. The Substantial Completion date is 35 calendar days from the start of construction, and the Final Completion date is 5 calendar days from the Substation Completion date.
