A certified check or cashier's check payable to City of Laurinburg, or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by a Corporate Surety licensed under the laws of North Carolina to execute such bonds in the amount equal to five (5) percent of the total bid price shall be submitted with each bid. Bid proposals may not be withdrawn for ninety (90) days after the date of receipt of bids. The successful bidder shall be required to furnish a separate one hundred (100) percent Performance Bond on the forms included as part of the Contract Documents. The Performance Bond shall be in full force and effect for one (1) year after the date of final acceptance of the project by the City of Laurinburg. Contract and Performance Bonds are not to be completed at the time of this proposal and are included in order to advise the Bidder as to form. The bid deposit or bid bond shall be retained by the City of Laurinburg if the successful bidder fails to execute the Contract or fails to provide the required performance bonds, as stated above, within ten (10) days after award of the Contract. The City of Laurinburg reserves the right to reject any or all bid proposals and to accept any combination of proposals which are deemed to be in the best interest of the City.
