The County of Riverside Purchasing Department on behalf of the Transportation & Land Management Agency - Aviation Department is seeking proposals from qualified Proposers for Design & Construction of an Entrance Monument Sign at The Jacqueline Cochran Regional Airport. The scope of this project shall include the design, fabrication, and installation of the entry monument sign. The installation shall encompass the placement of concrete bases, connections to electrical meters, and the procurement of permits. The monument sign shall be placed at the entrance of the Jacqueline Cochran Regional Airport between Airport Boulevard and Higgins Drive. The sign will supplant the existing concrete signage located on the center median of the entrance road. The median is about 1,050 feet long and 12 feet wide. The Purpose is to develop a visually striking and representative entry monument design that reflects the identity and character of the airport and the region it serves. Proposers may incorporate elements that focus on the history of the airport which is named after Jacqueline Cochran, a famous female aviator who broke records flying an F104 Starfighter, or the current nature of the airport which predominantly consists of business jet traffic. Proposers must ensure that the monument is visually appealing during the day and has adequate lighting for nighttime visibility. The qualified firm will provide a proposal with specific recommendations on the size and type of signage to best fit on the current site and design sketches with detailed cost estimates. This signage should be designed to attract, welcome, inform the public and bring awareness to Jacqueline Cochran Regional Airport at a major intersection within the community. The sign must also include a County of Riverside logo. The goals of this project are: To design and construct a static monument sign that is visible to traffic traveling on Airport Boulevard To create entry signage that welcomes citizens to the Thermal community To design, fabricate, and install the new monument sign. It is the intent of the County to award an agreement to one qualified company as a result of this solicitation which contain the minimum requirements and all terms and conditions for the service. Services will be evaluated and awarded based on the cost to provide and implement services, ongoing cost, ability to provide services and meeting the qualifications and scope of services. Bidders are encouraged to bid items containing recycled material as an alternative for the items specified; however, the County reserves the right to reject those alternatives as nonresponsive.
