The work will generally consist of milling and resurfacing various streets with asphaltic concrete. Bid security in the amount of Five Percent (5%) of the total Bid must accompany each Bid. The Successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Performance and Maintenance Bond and a Payment Bond on the forms set forth in the Contract Documents as security for the faithful performance of, and the payment of all bills and obligations arising from the performance of, the Contract. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids. Charges for all documents obtained will be made on the following basis: Charge Complete Set of Bidding Documents $ 25.00 Copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Purchasing Division at the address - All Bids must be in accordance with the Bidding Documents on file with the Purchasing Division, 1100 Frederick Avenue, Room 201, St. Joseph, Missouri 64501. The project will mill two (2) inches and repaving two (2) inches to resurface North Main Street. The millings will become the property of the Contractor. The DPW has done an extensive survey of structure conditions and has compiled a list of casting adjustment, structure rebuild (repair) and water box repairs. It is listed in Appendix D. All other structures are expected to be milled around and maintained without any adjustment. There are no construction plans for the project. The work is intended to be entirely curb-to-curb with no curbing or sidewalk reconstruction work intended. The milling machine should be run as close to the curb as possible without damaging the curb. The limit of milling and paving on side streets and access ways is noted in Appendix D.
