The City of Newton, Iowa; is seeking competitive quotations for Trench Compaction testing duties related to the public improvement hereafter described. The public improvement project requiring the Trench Compaction Testing duties for which the City is seeking competitive quotations is generally described as: W 4th St S (200-400) Block Reconstruction Project: Project includes 3,485 SY of PCC Pavement and 2359 LF of Storm Sewer Work and 1180 LF of Water Main Replacement construction in Newton, Iowa. The work shall commence upon issuance of the the Notice to Proceed, and shall be completed on or before July 30th, 2024. A copy of the plan sheet C.01 listing estimated project quantities and estimate reference information has been included with the request packet. All work under this project, including trench compaction testing duties shall be performed as specified in the 2023 SUDAS; General Specifications, Division 3, section 3010 Trench Excavation and Backfill 3.06; and other applicable specifications as noted on the project plans. Manatt's Inc of Brooklyn, Iowa is the prime contractor. The consultant chosen by the City of Newton to provide the Trench Compaction Testing duties will perform all testing as directed by the duties of Trench compaction testing as spelled out in the SUDAS Standard Specifications. The City of Newton will have one employee on the project that will coordinate all needed inspection requirements.
