The Department of Parks and Recreation, North Coast Redwoods District, is seeking qualified bids from contractors to furnish all materials, labor, tools and equipment necessary to re-rock Grieg Road in Humboldt Redwoods State Park, Weott, CA 95571, Humboldt County, California in accordance with the specifications therefore and such addenda thereto as may be issued prior to bid opening. Questions regarding project work may be directed to Brian Hall at (707) 498-0132 or email brian.hall@parks.ca.gov Furnish all labor, materials, tools and equipment necessary to Re-Rock Grieg Road in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in Weott CA. 95571 Humboldt County, California, complete and in accordance with the plans and specifications therefore and such addenda thereto as may be issued prior to bid opening date. Project will consist of re rocking Grieg Road which is twelve miles of backcountry road in steep mountainous terrain. Greig Road has a layer of Class 2 base rock that is 1 1/2 crushed shale from Bear Butte rock quarry to ensure binding of existing rock only rock that will be accepted will be 1 1/2 crushed shale from Bear Butte Rock quarry. A stockpile location will be used to stockpile rock close to the project site on Mattole Road. Six 10-yard dump trucks will be used to haul material from the stockpile to Grieg Road. An all-wheel grader with a 12 ft. blade 37,000-45,000lb. machine is needed along with a 96-inch rubber tire vibratory roller 30,000lb and a 4,000-gallon 3 axle water truck. State Parks have multiple water tanks close to the project area that will be used by drafting water trucks must be able to draft water from these tanks. Contractors will be responsible for installing a lift of 6 inches of 1 1/2 class 2 base rock and grading and compacting the rock. The road has been re engineered with rolling dips, armored drain swales, and out sloped existing road features must be maintained as is. A state representee will be onsite daily to monitor work and manage contractors for quality purposes. Additional Site Walkthrough Note: No Bid will be considered from a Prime Contractor that did not attend the mandatory job showing. Attendees will be allowed to sign in up to five (5) minutes past the scheduled job showing start time. Those attendees arriving five (5) minutes past the scheduled job showing start time will not be allowed to sign in. CONSTRAINTS: Physical Work onsite cannot occur until after Notice To Proceed (NTP) has been issued. The Contractor may be issued the Notice To Proceed (NTP) for the project prior to this date. The period between the NTP and Start Work Date can be used for administrative tasks (such as Submittals, RFI's, etc.) and is included in the overall Project Duration. Any discrepancies, omissions, ambiguities, or conflicts in or among the contract documents or doubts as to meaning shall be brought to the State's attention by including your comments directly to Jason.Norris@parks.ca.gov NO LATER THAN 2 p.m., seven (7) calendar days prior to bid opening date.
