Reference Number 0000264885 Question Acceptance Deadline 2024/02/28 05:00:00 PM CST It is the intent of Shoal Lake 40 First Nation (SL40) in partnership with Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) to prequalify a list of General Contractors for the construction of a new Prevention building and garage located in Shoal Lake 40 First Nation, Ontario. Following analysis of the submissions to this Request for Prequalification (RFPQ), by the Evaluation Subcommittee a shortlist of qualified General Contractors will be invited to submit formal bids for the project in March 2024. The preliminary construction start date will be May 2024, with occupancy required by September 2025. The issue of the final tender and contract award is dependent on project funding. Proposed Building Description The new Prevention Building will provide indoor program spaces, including offices, quiet spaces, a teaching kitchen, resource room, family rooms, playroom and multipurpose rooms for cultural activities. The project also includes a separate garage and outdoor fire area. The proposed 7,880 square foot, one-storey building will be comprised of: Cast-in-place grade beams supported on steel screw piles. Hollow core floor construction. Combination of 2x6 wood frame, structural steel and glue laminated wall construction. Combination of open web wood truss and glue laminated timber roof construction. Outboard semi-rigid mineral fiber insulation installed with thermally broken clips and z-girts for above grade building envelope. Concrete faced rigid insulation at grade beams. Combination of high-pressure laminated panels and steel plank siding for exterior wall cladding and a standing seam metal roof. Fiberglass windows with hollow metal insulated exterior doors. Radiant floor heating with variable refrigerant flow HVAC system. Sprinklered. The new 600 square foot mono slope garage will be wood frame on a structural concrete slab. Siteworks include a new septic field for process wastewater, connection to existing services, landscaping and a new granular parking lot / drop off loop.
