Design/ Builders are not required to submit an Initial Cost Proposal and/or Preliminary Schematic Design until they have been short-listed and notified that they have been selected as an interview candidate. The project description and schedule are as follows:Name of Project: Pedestrian Bridge and Site Improvements.Location: Located on Avon Wetlands, east of Kensington Drive, west of Jaycox Road, north of Riegelsberger Road and south of Keller Drive in Avon, OhioDescription: Design/Build services requiring landscape architecture, planning, and engineering services with varying degrees of hydrology, geology, civil and structural engineering professionals. In addition, competence in cost estimating, applicable Federal, State and local code compliance including ADA. In addition, abilities in construction services to perform site demolition, earthwork, structural and flat concrete work, installation of prefabricated bridge structures and site restoration work.Projected Project Schedule: Pre-Award Phase: February 20, 2024 - March 22, 2024Special Instructions: It is the intent of LCMP to hire a Design/Builder to provide the full range of planning, design and engineering services required for the development of a bid package for the Avon Wetlands Pedestrian Bridge Site Improvements and the full and complete construction of same. The scope of services required for the completion are generally divided into three distinct stages of work which are Stage I - Preliminary Design; Stage II - Detailed Design; and Stage III - Construction Services. The following is a brief description of the intent of each respective stage of work The Avon Wetlands site consists of approximately 57 acres of Lorain County Metro Parks (LCMP) property located to the west of Jaycox Road in Avon, Ohio. Residential development borders the site on much of the perimeter. French Creek intersects the site and flows northward from the southeast corner to the northwest corner of the property. In 2021, LCMP extensively regraded the site and constructed it as a wetland for the purpose of collecting stormwater runoff that overflows the banks of French Creek during significant storm events. In the last few years to provide the community with recreational opportunities for healthy activities and enjoyment of natural resources on the site, LCMP has been installing pedestrian trails and parking areas to allow for greater public access. This project seeks to enhance these community benefits and strengthen overall connectivity with a pedestrian bridge, concrete sidewalks, gravel trails and parking lot improvements on the site. The primary goals of this project are proposed as follows: A. Connect existing gravel trails that are on either side of French Creek with a prefabricated pedestrian bridge over the stream on the west side of the wetlands site near Livingston Drive. Regrade gravel trails as necessary to meet the final alignment and elevations at both ends of the bridge. B. Further improve public access on the east side of the site with the installation of new concrete sidewalks, a pedestrian crosswalk and enhancements to the existing parking area along Jaycox Road TThe Board of Park Commissioners of the Lorain County Metropolitan Park District intends to contract for professional design and build services in connection with the planning and design of the Pedestrian Bridge Site Improvements located at Avon Wetlands in Avon, Ohio. Firms and/or Teams interested in being considered to provide the required services should submit five (5) copies of aStatement of Qualifications.To be considered, each firm must submit a response using the RFQ packet issued by the Lorain County Metropolitan Park District.
