Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Clarkson, Nebraska. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
The City of Clarkson will receive bids for Downtown Improve ments for Water, Paving and Storm Sewer Improvements. The proposed project is described as follows: Contractor bids shall include all labor, materials, equipment and other incidental items required to complete water, storm sewer and paving improvements as shown on the plans and specifications prepared by Advanced Consulting Engineering Services, Inc. Work will include the removal of concrete paving and sidewalks on Pine Street from 1st Avenue to 4th Street, along with the construction of 8-inch PVC DR18 water main, gate valves, fire hydrants, water services, junction boxes, inlets, 15-inch thru 24-inch RCP storm sewer, ADA ramps, 8-inch PC concrete paving with integral curb and gutter and 5-inch reinforced concrete sidewalks. The project is being bid in 2 phases . One contract will be awarded for all work to be performed. Engineer's Estimate of Costs Phase I - $3,950,000 Engineer's Estimate of Costs Phase II - $900,000 The Owner intends to award one contract for all work to be performed. The Owner reserves the right to reject all bids, and to waive any irregularities in bidding. Award of bids will be based on total base bid cost for Phase I improvements. The bidder shall not qualify bids in any manner. Bids submitted to the owner shall remain current for a period of 35 days. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 7 days without written consent from the Owner. The bidding set will include a bid form, instructions to bidders, contract documents, and construction specifications along with an 11-inch by 17-inch set of plans. Bidders shall submit a bid security certificate in the amount of 5% of the grand total base bid with all bids. In lieu of a bid security certificate, the Bidders shall submit a certified check in the amount of 5% of the grand total base bid. The certified check shall be made out to the Owner. Checks and bid securities shall be returned to unsuccessful bidders. Payment and Performance Bonds The successful bidder shall be required to provide Payment and Performance Bonds in the amount of the sum of the contract. The City has requested that the work begin in June of 2024 and be substantially completed by November 15, 2024. Final completion shall be prior to December 31, 2024. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be directed to Engineer in writing. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda mailed or delivered to all parties recorded by Engineer as having received the Bidding Documents. Questions received less than 5 days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. Only questions answered by formal written Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect. 6.1.1.
