As of November 7, 2024, a construction manager at risk and an architect has been selected. This project is in the pre-construction/negotiated status. Schematic Design has been wrapped up and is awaiting local approval before moving into Design Development. If approved this December, the schedule shows the sub-bidding process (beginning with prequalification) will start in the Fall/Winter of 2025, and the schedule shows the start of construction in June 2026. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: Construction Manager at Risk - William H. Galvin Middle School. Estimated Cost $186,000,000. Project specifics: Estimated Total Project Value $232 million; Estimated Construction Value $186 million Construction Duration: +/- 36 months; Project square footage 218,350 sf new construction; and Program scope: New Middle School designed to accommodate grades 5 through 8. Program includes: abatement and demolition of existing school building, new building construction; project site programs includes fields, playground, outdoor areas and parking lots. The SBC, Canton School District, and Town of Canton reserves the right to waive any informality in the RFQ process, to reject any and all SOQ's and to make determinations on CM firms deemed "qualified" in its own discretion to be in the best interest of the Project.
