A ) The City intends to hire a Contractor to be called out on an 24 Hour emergency basis to make repairs to various residential and commercial properties located within The City of Allentown. B ) The Contractor will be required to furnish and install ½” CDX plywood with 2-1/2” or longer kitchen cabinet screws with washers (USA fasteners only) every 16” to various standard openings on an as needed basis. Plywood is to be cut to the size of the opening within ½” and not overlap wall surfaces; sills; headers, and lintels are to be left exposed. All plywood must be painted with exterior grade flat black paint. C ) Materials for openings will be solid wood. Lexan is not to be used. Solid wood will deter entrance, while Lexan allows visibility of the internal conditions and contents of the property. Each bid shall be accompanied by an original Bid Bond signed by a surety company, with original signatures, authorized to do business in Pennsylvania in the amount equal to ten (10%) percent of the bid total or a Certified Check, an Irrevocable Letter of Credit, or bank check in an amount equal to ten (10%) percent of the bid total. Performance and Labor & Materialman's Bonds in the amount of one hundred (100%) percent of the contract price. Maintenance bond to comply with the Guaranty in the amount of ten (10%) percent of the contract amount for a period of twelve (12) months from the final acceptance by the City. The award of this contract is subject to the approval of City Council as referenced. The Contract term shall commence upon full execution and shall cease three (3) years thereafter. Upon written notification, this contract can be extended for two (2) additional one (1) year terms beyond the contract expiration period. The minimum bid acceptable for Emergency Boarding for the three (3) year period will be Seventy-Five Thousand ($75,000.00) Dollars. No other alternative payment basis will be considered. Payment shall be in six (6) equal installments. The first payment shall be due with the executed contract and the following payments shall be due each six (6) months thereafter.
