CLARIFICATION DEADLINE 2/29/2024 4:00 PM Communications and technical questions concerning this Bid shall be submitted using the Online Procurement System. Lincoln Electric System is requesting bids to furnish and deliver FOB, Lincoln, Nebraska the overhead fiber optic ground wire included in this bid solicitation. Method of Shipment, Loading for Truck Shipment: Must be delivered on a flatbed trailer and loaded from the side. Do not load from rear. This specification covers overhead fiber optic ground wire (OPGW), configured with stranded loose plastic buffer tubes for fibers configured within an aluminum central member. Outside stranding and protection for the core shall be helically applied aluminum clad steel wires which serve as the cable strength members. The OPGW will be installed on wood, concrete, or steel structures associated with transmission lines of voltages up to 345kV. The OPGW will generally occupy the top position of the transmission structure. The fibers contained in the OPGW will be used for transmission line relaying and substation communications. LES may, in its sole discretion, reject any or all bids, or waive minor defects, irregularities, or informalities therein.
