Renovation of an educational facility in Columbus, Ohio. Working plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The Ohio Facilities Construction Commission intends to employ a Construction Manager at Risk for the Columbus State Community College Health Science Building facility project. Firms interested in being considered for a contract to provide the required services should reply with a statement of qualifications. Columbus State Community College ("the college") seeks to build a signature building on its Columbus campus - a symbol of student success, workforce development and the power of public private partnerships. The OhioHealth Center for Health Sciences building ("Project") will facilitate the College's bold 10-year plan for doubling enrollment in five key health science areas: nursing, surgical technology, medical imaging, respiratory therapy, and sterile processing. With the backing of Franklin County voters, Columbus State plans to invest $66.5 million in bond proceeds from Issue 21 into capital needs to support the healthcare sector vision. Funds will be used to construct a new 80,000 square-foot health sciences classroom and laboratory building. The building is expected to meet or exceed LEED Certification criteria. The College will work closely with the City of Columbus on matters related to the public realm proximate to the site selected for building. The tentative project site is on the northeast corner of Cleveland Ave. and East Spring St. adjacent to Mitchell Hall. The building is expected to be prominent on Cleveland Ave and contribute to the sense of place of the campus as well as the Creative Campus neighborhood. Columbus State is committed to advancing the mission of inclusive excellence on its campuses, including the delivery of the new Health Sciences Building.
