The City of Asbury Park invites local, national and international artists or artist teams to provide qualifications for the Citys Art Bench Program The Art Bench Program will see five art benches installed in Sunset Lake Park. These one-of-a-kind benches are envisioned to add beauty to our community while serving a practical function. The art benches will be the first of their kind created for Asbury Park and are intended to expand the presence of sculptural public art and allow for new activations of public spaces. The City of Asbury Park is utilizing the Call For Entry (CaFE) online submission platform for this RFQ. Responses will then be reviewed by an Art Bench RFQ Committee consisting of members of the City of Asbury Park, the Asbury Park Public Arts Commission, the Sunset Lake Commission, the Sunset Lake Park Conservancy, and the Asbury Park Arts Council and the Governing Body will announce award at a public meeting. The selections of qualified respondents are not subject to public bidding or competitive contracting provisions of the Local Public Contracts Law, NJSA 40A:11-1 et. seq. The selection is, however, subject to the fair and open process authorized by the New Jersey Local Unit Pay-To-Play Law, NJSA 19:44A-20.4 et. seq. The City has structured a procurement process that seeks to obtain the desired results while establishing a competitive process to assure that each person and/or firm is provided an equal opportunity to submit a submission. All insurance requirements of the State of NJ are to be met. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
