The prime coat for approximately 6000 sq. yards, shall consist of MC-70 and a single coat chip seal with MC-800. The City will prepare the street prior to oiling.The seal coat for approximately 40 blocks or less, shall consist of MC-800, to be applied at the rate of .3 gallon per square yard at application temperature of 225- 250 degrees F. Application of the asphalt oil shall be immediately followed with a cover of 3/8 pea rock to be finished by the contractor. The rock shall be uniformly distributed by means of a self-propelled chip spreader at the rate of approximately 30 pounds per square yard. Any bleeding through of the oil after rolling shall be covered with enough additional rock or aggregate to absorb bleeding and then rolled until compacted. The completion date shall not be later than the 1st day of September 2024. Bidders shall furnish all equipment and labor. The bid should be marked Street Oiling. You may have up to three mobilizations. The bid shall be accompanied by a cashiers check, money order, certified check or a receipt thereof on a solvent bank or trust company, made payable to the City of Mobridge, in the amount of at least 5% of the bid. Proof of Workers Compensation and Liability is required. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive formalities. All contractors must be pre-qualified by the SD DOT and certification must accompany bids. All materials are to be tested to meet specifications.
