The City of Abilene is soliciting bids for the purchase of Water/Sand Fillable Plastic Roadway Barriers. The barriers are necessary to provide for safety and security to work crews and the general public when performing repairs in a construction area. *The City requires a quantity of barriers to provide for a length of 2,400 feet. The approximate quantity of 400 units is based on a 72" long barrier. If bidding a 60" length barrier the quantity would be 480. This describes the minimum specifications for the purchase of Water/Sand Fillable Plastic Roadway Barriers: 1. Low profile design to allow motorists to view oncoming traffic with minimum dimensions of 32 inches tall and a length of 60 inches or 72 inches long. 2. Colors accepted: Orange and White. Preferred combination of orange and white or all orange. 3. Durable designed plastic to minimize cracking and breaking and a strong connection at hinge points. 4. Hinge design to allow for pivoting between sections. 5. Large fill holes with secured cap/closure. 6. Tamper resistant drain plug. 7. Includes steel connection pin and keeper pin per wall to allow sections to be secured together. 8. Designed to be easily transported and stored. 9. Forklift and/or pallet jack slots for ease of movement. 10. Ability to connect fencing/fence extenders above barriers is required.
