Project Scope: The City of Tacoma (City) / Tacoma Public Utilities (TPU) is soliciting bids to establish one or more contracts with qualified vendors to fulfill the City's needs for Railroad Signal Maintenance and Inspection. Provide preventative maintenance, FRA mandated inspections, testing, scheduled and emergency repairs, and authorized railroad grade crossing system upgrades including, but not limited to replacement of fuses, batteries, lights, repairing broken bonding of wires on tracks, adjusting instruments, and the replacing ineffective or obsolete components, stolen or vandalized batteries for the Tacoma Rail Tideland area on a 24 hour, 7-day per week as-needed basis. Signal batteries will be purchased and properly disposed of by the Contractor. Contract(s) will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder(s) based on price, product quality and availability. Estimate: $408,000.00 Paid Sick Leave: The City of Tacoma requires all employers to provide paid sick leave in accordance with State of Washington law. The Contract will be for a period of two years from date of award, approximately May 2024 to May 2026, with an option to extend up to three (3) additional one-year periods upon mutual consent of both parties and subject to the price increase/decrease provisions in Section 1.06 below. This Contract shall remain open to additional purchases (interlocal, tag-on, and piggyback) by this or other agencies for the full Contract term.
