Scope of work CTH N - The work under this contract consists of tack coat and HMA overlaying the existing roadway with 1" X 22' of compacted 6LT hot mix asphalt leveling course and application of CRS-2 emulsion oil, seal coat aggregate and subsequent CSS-1H D50 fog seal oil and all incidental items necessary to complete the work. This project begins at Longs Rd. and proceeds north for 5.1 miles west towards CTH M. This section is approximately 26,900' in length. The work under this contract shall be in accordance with the bid specifications contract for Vilas County and shall comply with the requirements of the State of Wisconsin, Department of Transportation, Standard Specifications (hereinafter "Standard Specifications") for Highway and Structure Construction, and these special provisions. All quantities shall be measured in English units. Wherever the Standard Specification use metric units, the appropriate conversions to English will be made. The county reserves the right to reject all bids, or to accept the bid which is most advantageous to the county. The county reserves the right to add or delete projects/bid items from the bid to maintain their budget. Contractor to give two weeks' notice when ready to start the project. Project must be completed no later than September 13, 2024. Failure to complete the project on time will result in a $500 per day penalty per day of delay. The contractor will be given a chance to explain the delays to the project. The penalty may be waived for extenuating circumstances.The contractor and Highway Commissioner will meet to discuss any delays in the completion of the project.
