Renovation of a mixed-use development in Springfield, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
HVAC Upgrade project, approved as part of the 2023 Referendum. Upgrades will be done in each of the 5 schools: Jonathan Dayton High School (189,900 sq. ft.), Florence M. Guadineer Middle School (95,900 sq. ft.), James Caldwell Elementary School (31,500 sq. ft.), Thelma L. Sandmeier Elementary School (44,725 sq. ft.) and Edward V. Walton Early Childhood Center (68,975 sq. ft.). Upgrades include replacing existing classroom unit ventilators (heating only) with new unit ventilators and condensing units (heating and cooling) and installing new package rooftop units with heating and cooling and ductwork distribution for the larger spaces (gymnasiums, auditoriums, multi-purpose rooms, and the elementary school media centers). Classroom heating is provided via steam or hot water coils connected to the existing distribution system. Cooling will be direct expansion cooling, with each unit ventilator connected to a standalone condenser. The project will include mechanical and electrical demolition of the existing systems. The installation of the new systems will include the supply and installation of the equipment, electrical power distribution, ductwork (where applicable), structural supports and some fit and finish modifications required for the installation. HVAC Upgrades at: JONATHAN DAYTON HIGH SCHOOL 139 Mountain Avenue and FLORENCE M. GAUDINEER MIDDLE SCHOOL 75 South Springfield Avenue and JAMES CALDWELL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL 36 Caldwell Place and THELMA L. SANDMEIER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL 666 South Springfield Avenue and EDWARD V. WALTON EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER 601 Mountain Avenue Bids must be made on the proposal forms in the manner designated, enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing the name and address of the bidder and proposal identification on outside and must be accompanied by a Certified Check, Cashier's Check or Bid Bond drawn to the order of the Springfield Board of Education for not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, but in no case in excess of $20,000.00; and must be delivered to the Board Secretary of the School District, or a designated representative at the above place on or before the hour named. The Board of Education and Architect assume no responsibility for bids mailed or misdirected in delivery Document notes: bidding documents may be examined between 9 am and 4 pm at the office of the Architect, DI Group Architecture, LLC, 15 Bethany Street, New Brunswick, NJ 08901. All inquiries shall be made directly to the Architect at 732-249-6242. Bidders must be pre-qualified by the New Jersey Schools Development Authority ("NJSDA") as stated in the Contract Documents, prior to the date bids are received Within ten (10) days of Project award, the successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for a satisfactory Performance and Payment Bond or Bonds in the amount equal to the bid submitted.
